Difficulty in obtaining MOC Action Force Hasbro

I have been finding it very very tough to find Hasbro Action Force, I scour ebay daily, exhaust all contacts I know, and search toy fairs as much as poss. I have been collecting 2 years now, and must have one of the top collections of Hasbro stuff. It is so hard to find, and I do not know why. At the time Action Force was one of the biggest toy lines so loads were getting produced. The red card stuff is very common, so why is the Hasbro stuff not.
Anyway heres my collection.

My collection also includes loads of GI Joe American Hero stuff, and my new vice over the last 6 months as I cannot get Action Force, Palitoy Star Wars (which is taking my mind off the abscence of AF, but costing a fortune ha ha)

Totally disagree with you mate - the red card hasbro stuff isn't common. I've been collecting moc for I'd guess 7 years or so, purely focusing on 'red card stuff' (pali and hasbro) and my series 3 (hasbro) still isn't complete. I only know of one collector with series 3 complete. Yes, there are some that are common - gung ho, torpedo etc. But others are far from common. I pay particular attention yet only know of two moc snowjobs, two docs, very few scrap irons. So certainly not common. But that's part of the thrill of collecting. If any jabronie with a big cheque book could just stroll up and buy a complete collection in weeks it'd be no fun!

Yes of course I know what you mean when you say some stuff is not common, like snow job, etc. But this is the rarest fig probably. With Hasbro stuff, the rare ones like snow serpent and BAT, they have never been seen. If you go on ebay, there are countless palitoy red cards, even if a lot are common. With hasbro stuff you get the odd airtight popping up, and thats basically it. So I disagree, in general I think Hasbro stuff is miles harder to get hold of.

I took you as meaning that ALL red card stuff was common. Hence my post. Palitoy stuff, yes, there is a good bit of it about, but the later Hasbro "red card" stuff (that which I call series 3) is the stuff I was meaning is harder to come by. Of the first 3 series I would certainly say Series 3 is hardest, followed by series 1, then series 2 (with the exception of obviously).

it depends on you as a collector, you have amassed a lot of stuff in a relatively short time ie 2 years, most of the collectors on here have been collecting a lot longer, it is out there you just need to be patient, (before anyone says anything i am aware of my own collecting habits) knowing good toy dealers is always a good start.

Eddie, you collect like a maniac, but in the end you are a very reasonable collector. Nothing wrong with you!

Eddie is the embodiment of what us mere mortal collectors aspire to. Collecting without a care. Its astounding what he's done in the last 2 years. Its also VERY cool. Mind you, my collection has grown from about 30 origianl guys to near 300

I covet some of the MOC stuff, especially for some reason, Hasbro era. Weird. I plan to collect a few more MOC's once the loose chaps are complete, but I won't be in a hurry. As Obi Wan said, patience.

Reading this makes me wish I hadn't opened that MOC Footloose now. I agree with the OP that it seems odd how rarely Hasbro AF comes up for sale when you consider how much was in the shops back in the day, but I have a feeling that there is probably a warehouse full of the stuff somewhere. Does anyone remember that big find of Thundercats figures that turned up in Poundstretchers about 10-12 years ago? Up until that point MOC Thundercats was practically impossible to find and very pricey then all of a sudden the market was flooded and prices came right down. The other possible scenario - and one I hope is not true - is that maybe a lot of stuff was destroyed. I have heard that happened to a lot of unsold Star Wars stuff that they couldn't offload in the late 80s.
