Re: Space Force Base - Custom build
Loving it mate good on you. Reminds me of a Palitoy cardboard version of the US Death Star.

I think you're right about looking like the old card base - originally I wasn't happy at the quality of the printing when compared to the sharp images on the screen, but then I decided it actually gave it a real retro look and now prefer it.

Oh mama that looks cool. I wish I had some more time on my hands. I HAVE to build one. Just awesome, mate.
Re: Space Force Base - Custom build
tremendous! Really well done, really love it!
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?
Re: Space Force Base - Custom build
Almost done now ( I'm getting bored and am ready to look for a new project). I should have been a little more careful when applying the stickers, some went on wonky which caused a number of problems. The woodwork is also poor -this was due to me trying to use only scraps so I simply made do when the lengths weren't quite long enough etc. But on the plus side I have figured out how to make stickers on the PC so can make a good one at a later date. Pics to follow later.

As promised the (almost) final photos. I'd best be quick as my son has started playing with it !

Hope you like them.
The last few ought to done tomorrow.

Re: Space Force Base - Custom build
Thanks guys. I'm pleased with it now after a few moments of despair (it's a bit wonky inparts!) but my lad likes it so that's what counts really.
The reason I did a space station is that it is wall mounted so it doesn't take up too much space. I'd really like to make a base for the Baron and have started working on the stickers. I'll make it a fold out structure as floor space is a real issue. What I'd really like to do is a full hollowed out mountain type of thing with hidden doors, secret bunkers etc. But space makes this almost impossible.
I've got to say working with mounting board has been a pleasant surprise, it cuts really well and with just a little reinforcing is surprisingly sturdy.
I'm just making a few chairs for the control/command deck and then that's it (until I get another idea -my wife keeps saying it's fine as it is and should just let Harry enjoy it!)
