Okay so this was in a free Newsletter at the con called JOE DECLASSIFIED, I got the info from Joesightings.com
here is the one part that would be of interest to RED SHADOW FANS
This is Mike O Sullivan talking about his memories on the whole WORLD WAR III story
#31
- The Red Shadows. Call us stubborn. We really wanted a chance to make them viable and a third party in the struggle between Cobra and the Joes. The first story with them didn't sit so well with us, and we were really hoping for a chance to redeem them. This was a start. Bringing Eden back was the first step of what ended up not happening. No doubt many fans would be happy we didn't, but I still think there was potential there that wasn't able to be fulfilled in any of their stories. Ah, well. . . Best laid plans, and all that. We ended up just letting them fade out after Eden served her purpose as a foil for Storm Shadow and Destro. After that, we just let them return to the sidelines, plotting and scheming away…

So they could have done more with the Shadows but they let them "fade out" ok nice to know. At least now we know what happened.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

Such a shame it didn't work out.
It would be interesting to know more of what they had planned. I personally want to know if the choice to revamp the Red Shadows came as a result of the BFTB archives.

To be honest I had a feeling that the Red Shadows story would fade into the distance- just like the Serpentor Arc with the Coil
A throughly enjoyable story which was superb but then fizzled to a pop. What about Overlord? he'll take charge of the Coil & make them a huge threat like the Red Shadows.Yet again Hasbro you've messed up big time!!!

Yup. I didn't like the DDP take on the Red Shadows at all.No doubt many fans would be happy we didn't

lol ya ya ya ya LOL
I think had they made some very small tweaks to the idea, and would have gone with Brandon Jerwas original idea ( and time frame ) most people would have liked them. as it stands it is very split.
HOWEVER I Do credit DDP with helping BIG TIME with the RED SHADOW REVIVAL we are seeing today.
had it not been for the DDP RED SHADOW story I would have never come here, It was there story that got me hooked on the RED SHADOWS so I do appreciate it!
good to see you here Draven! I know your a big fan of the foreign guys from Hisstank and Yojoe.com
