Cheers Chop'

Having all the loose parts & not the Jeep itself is an unusual, but good, situation to be in. The Jeep's quite easy to find & pick up here in the U.K. loose & incomplete, whats the situation like over there in Oz?

I got this one complete, & have added a couple of bits like the spare wheel to the bonnet, which came off my old Land Rover that I'd wrecked as a kid, plus an extra Jerry can & radio I had laying around..not original issue, I know, but that's the great thing about Jeep's they just don't look right unless they're loaded down with massive amounts of kit :-D
Lot's more kit to add over the next few years..

It still needs a good clean, & a set of reproduction stickers are on order, so hopefully it'll look even better by the end of the week 8-)

That looks great even with the old stickers. You need another chap manning the twin 50 cals tho ;-)

I went out to the local haberwotsy superstore today, got me some bits and pieces to repair a few uniforms. Should have all 15 guys up and running soon. VAM and a MAM.

Great stuff Chop'
You will post pic's when you've done 'em wont ya?, I'd love to see 'em all ready for battle stations. :-D

This is the sort of effect I'd like to recreate with this in the end, using all original VAM stuff if possible..

I like that pose you have with the picture in your second post - just like the phot of the real thing. I think jeeps have to be loaded down. If I had one, I think I'd want to do it as a British Para version at Arnhem. Look forward to seeing yours in future with more items on it. By the way, the 2 Action Men a friend gave me recently have terrible hands - all hard from attic storage. Where's a good place to get replacements at a good price?

Thanks Red Baron :-D
I think Modelers Loft sell replacement hands, I'm shure there's a link to them in the Links section of the site :-D

Sundance, Palitoy made two versions based on this basic Jeep, sounds like you had the same "vanilla" one as I had as a child too...I have many fond memories of towing mine behind my bicycle by a piece of string, unsurprisingly it didn't survive very long with such play time activities

Here's another candidate for "military vehicle that should of been made for Action Man" & I'd love to own if I had the money... :-( The :sas: Pink Panther

looking at action man HQ's vintage vehicles page, i think i had the '78 Scorpion and the '78 'vanilla' jeep.

i know i had the police motorcyclist and deep sea diver and some kinda bog-standard soldier type.

I had an idea for a pink panther ages ago, just not found a good canidate yet. Both 12" and 3 3/4" ;-) I had the Dukw and a Armoured scout car. They got hammered behind the bike too.

The lad and I were out the front playing AM yesterday in the garden. He's starting to get it and I have kit bashed a couple of MAM's too. Woo hoo.
