The Rise of Cobra Movie

Post by paulitoy »

I know I'm very late to this and its probably been discussed at length, but I've never read any of the threads on the Modern GI Joe movie.

I had the disc from LOVEFilm this week and watched it yesterday.

I'm a massive Movie Geek, probably just as much as I'm a vintage toy geek.

I watch films all the time and expected the very worst with the GI Joe movie.

Very pleased and surprised to say how impressed I was by it. In its field as a kid's film I thought it was superb. A hundreds times better than any of the SW prequels.

Sienna Miller is unbelievably fit. I've loved her since Layer Cake and she just looks stunning.

A ridiculous film but it completely works on many levels.

It won't suddenly make me collect GI Joe toys as I'm a vintage collector through and through, but I thought it was a really good film. Can't wait for more Baroness in the sequel!

I stated this in another thread but its a movie that I have watched like 5 times already and want to watch again for some reason LOL

I dont think it was great, but I dont think it was horrible either. I do think that they will do a better job on the sequel. Dont know why but got a feeling they will

loved the Korean guy playing Storm shadow and I thought Channing Tantun ( sp ?) did a great job

It would've worked a lot better without "Ripcord" and the DVD didn't come with any extras I wanted, such as deleted scenes. Hopefully, they will remedy that in the future...

I'm with Jamar on this one. Not great but not bad either.

I'll bet they have the deleted scenes in the super mega deluxe directors extended limited edition version.
