Z Force customs

Post by Fant0mas »

Hi all

a few of my latest quick customs-hope you like them

Skip is pretty easy-25th Anni Stalker and 25th Anni Flint, added webbing from spares box painted beret and voila-one Skip

Wheels-I wanted to keep the look of Wheel's headgear but with 25th articulation so I cut and hollowed out an original Wheels head and stuck it on a 25th Anni Stalker-added web belt-job done!

Z Force infantry-man

Again as with wheels I wanted to keep the original look and I always liked the artwork of Vanyo and how he drew the Z force infantry(which ,looking through this site I remembered that this figure is actualy the Z force Sapper not the infantryman) but in my memories and vacant head he is the Z force grunt.

Dead simple again-I bought some 25th Anni gi joe "green shirts" or army builder figs, cut and hollowed out and original figure head, painted black camo patches and the Z force logo on the arms. The otiginal figure had a flag badge on his arm so thats why I mounted the Z logo on a black square-to cover up the flag!

any hoo there we are-feedback ,etc always welcome-chers all

Good stuff!

Are the Wheels and infantryman outer heads easily removable? If so it looks like a good platform for a Zartan figure (although I concede that the underlying 'real' Zartan could look a bit pinheaded.

Hey all

cheers for the feedback! :-D

Re the Wheels head-they are moulded as one piece so as far as I know the only way you're gonna get the outer hood is to drill/dremel/scrape the figures face out! ouch!!

but I am in the process of doing this custom which is at the mo a WIP where I used a ROC Zartan hood to make my Sapper/Tracker figure-again this is based on the filecards.....I need to tighten up the hood and need to source some goggles........

cheers

Oops, sorry, I didn't say that right before.

When you said "I cut and hollowed out an original Wheels head" I thought there might be an opportunity to make the heads swappable by just popping them on and off again.

Separately, I think that ROC Zartan figures's hood is a great choice and will going to look spot-on for Wheels/Infantryman. The ROC Snow Job figure has removable goggles that might do that trick with a minor repaint.

AHHHH now it becomes clear-yes I can swap the heads-all the original heads I've used have been sort of shaped to be similar the the 25th anni figure heads-then all I do is hollow out a hole so the ball joint on the neck fits it-I like the idea of the swappable heads so I can make the figure look like the toy or if required I can make a "comic" version( example :SAS Force Eagle in flash hood but no mask-see my SAS custom posts)

I've posted a couple of pics to show the Wheels head process-not very refined but it does the job! the only other niggle I've come across (apart from nearly slicing my fingers to bits) is sometimes the neck is too long so I have to cut off the ball joint, trim the neck length down and superglue the ball back on. Hope this helps chaps!

Re the goggles-I'll have a mooch about-thanks for that- :-D :snowjob:

cheers
