Lee Byung Hun to receive a bigger role in G.I. Joe sequel

Korean actor Lee Byung Hun is set to receive a more substantial role in the sequel to G.I. Joe.

The character of Storm Shadow, played by the IRIS star, will be given more emphasis in the upcoming sequel to 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Paramount Pictures acknowledged that Lee’s work contributed much to the success of the first film and are developing more stories around his character. Lee has been getting much attention outside of the Korean market recently for his roles in G.I. Joe and last years I Come with the Rain, where he starred along side Josh Hartnett and Japanese actor Takuya Kimura.

Filming for the sequel is scheduled to begin in August with a pending 2012 release.

Channing Tatum also mentioned in an interview one thing they were half-heartedly joking about was the inclusion of Cobra Island in a sequel. So you never know we might see more ARAH elements being used in the next film. I want to see the other joes like Stone being in the action and not just in the background and Gung Ho who was in the Prequel novel as a team leader.

Well, :storm: must come back to prove his innocence in Hard Master's murder (we just saw him running and his sword on Hard Master; we never saw him shoving it on him, and we all know what happened in the ARAH comic ;-) ...and knowing is half the sequel)

How about Major Bludd.... get him in there to mix sh*t up.
:bludd:

Steve

PS: I have to say that on 3rd viewing (first time I've seen a film more than once in a couple of years) Rise of Cobra is even better and more fun - I love the fact it's what I had in my head as a kid playing with the toys. And Baroness was exactly as I'd pictured in my head in later years....

I thought Baroness was pretty good but Scarlett was a let down in the looks department.
