Another newbie here
Re: Another newbie here
But did Munro Deighton ever appear in the comic? In my memory, he appeared just in time to be killed alongside all the the rest of the "British" AF in the GIJoe takeover storyline (in Battle AF), but I can find no evidence to support this and I've decided I must have hallucinated the whole thing....
Re: Another newbie here
Reckon so. Major Flagg appeared in World Enemy No. 1, and then got blowed up by Firefly but we saw him at the end recovering in hospital. He then reappeared in Revenge of the Red Shadows and Operation Deep Cover (and possibly others).

You're right! He is clearly called Munro! Hmm... conspiracy theories to follow...
Maybe it was an in-joke with the editorial staff reflecting the Palitoy transition from shad-era to cobra-era?

Different feller. The chap in death of the hawk had the surname, Munro. Not his first name. Duke wouldmn't call a Major by his first name in the field, however a grunt's surname he would.
My Datafile on Mjr Flagg has Flagg as a code name only, much like M. The AF commander/Major Flagg position has been filled by more than one bloke over the years, hence they all look different in the BAF stories. At one point it was Deighton. What do you think guys?

Sounds good to me Chopper those muppets at Hasbro had 2 different Dustys and 2 different Airbornes at least at one point.

Do they? I thought Flagg was a pretty distinct character.Chopper wrote:they all look different in the BAF stories.

Were there some with and without mo's? Even if they look similar, they aren't necessarily the same chap.
Well? I gotta think of something. Maybe I'll put together a strip with all his appearances for analysis.
PS I seem to recall a pic with a room full of Flagg's.

To the best of my knowledge he had a mo in them all. I'm not sure where you got the pic you used for the Datafile from.
