Forum Namesake

Post by Thundershot »

Probably of very little interest to anyone else here, but I'm pleased to have found this on Youtube...the Promo' vid of my Forum namesake the Thundershot. :-D

I've slowly been restoring my (20+ year  ) old T'Shot over the last couple of years.. it's a runner but still needs a few new bit's, including a set of tyres. It's been fitted with a modern electronic speed controller & has ball bearings all round, it fly's even with the standard (original) "silver can" 540 type motor.

I still have my Nikko Lancru Tiger on top of the wardrobe, in 1-18 scale too.
Working headlights and 4x4 I think, loved taking it for trips as a kid .
This is the only other I could find on the net.

Go for it :-D , the re-issues are fun to build & have better modern electronic speed controllers..but if you're going to run them I'd seriously advise in replacing the standard plastic bearings, that come with the kits, with metal ball bearings..not only do they improve the performance but also enhance the running times.

I've got a couple of the re-releases..

As both the cars are what the folks @ http://www.tamiyaclub.com/ call "Shelf Queens" (just for display not for running), I dug out my old car from the loft with the intention of having some fun during my lunch breaks.
