Another newbie here
Another newbie here
Hey there, original AF member from the early 80s here - serial number 30363 reporting for duty (still got the dogtag, wish I knew what happened to the codebook though)
Was obsessed with the original "proper" AF back in the day (well I was about 8!), felt completely betrayed when they killed off the old characters and dumped GI Joe on us, I guess thinking about it now it must have coincided with me "growing out of" the thing anyway but still...
Glad there's a community keeping it alive, amazing feelings of nostalgia seeing those pages for the first time in 25 years. Might have to head down to the woods, find a gun shaped stick and make war again...

Brilliant! Not luagghed that hard for a long time.
I was at boarding school with a few kids from service families and there were some who really were kitted out like that running round the woods with sticks.... not me, I had to make do with a DPM "bodywarmer" that probably came from C&A.......
ahh, happy days....

Welcome aboard, Mate. My codename is from the ole days too, when I were but a series 2 lad.
Down with Cobra.
Scoob, that's freakin brilliant. I was one of those kids. We advanced to laser tag at one point, and we had pretty good toy guns tho. I even had a plastic Lee Enfield copy. Boy I miss that gun now. We did use sticks from time to time.
