WIP my Red Shadows

Here are my Red Shadows. :enemy:

I still have some painting to do on some of them. I'm going for the updated look. I don't want them to be just repaints of G.I. Joe figures. Some however work great as repaints. I'm going to paint them as close to the original AF figures as possible.
I just don't like the idea of the original Kraken so mine are just Shadows with wetsuits. As you can see Hydro-Vipers will make great Krakens! :kraken:
:vulture: Red Vulture works great in the Firefly uniform.
Explosives expert and familiar with all hand guns ever produced.
I'm going to paint the bronze parts black. Should I leave the grey parts or also paint them black?
:laser: Red Laser was a spur of the moment build. I just had those parts left over. I think it will work out well.
:muton: The Overkill mold looks like a great update to Muton.
I'm open to suggestions on Red Jackal. :jackal: His head is a bit small. However that Destro sure looks better as Red Jackal.
:major: Black Major is self explanatory. M. Bison head on top of a new Crimson Guard body.
:baron2: Baron Ironblood has his original head on top of a Cobra Commander torso, with new Crimson Guard arms & legs, then a Storm Shadow 2 waist.
Yes I pulled original heads off their bodies. Please don't hurt me!

I like your ideas GoldBug I think the Kraken figures look terrible and the emoticon looks like Kermit the frog :kraken: I would maybe use Star wars Skiff guard figures from Return of the Jedi for a variation they are straight armed to I also use Armourtech Destro from Star Brigade as Red Jackal as he is cybernetically enhanced he looks more so with a disproportioned laser cannon for a left arm also there is a Firefly variant in red and black that would make great 21st century Shadows. :kraken: ""Welcome to the Muppet Show"
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

One damn minute, Admiral

I'm kickin' around doing some Action Force customs myself. Not the whole team, just a couple of the ones that have always stuck out in my mind.

Discovered AF back in '99-00 when I saw some of them in my buddy's huge Joe collection. The very LOOK of a couple of them, how refreshingly DIFFERENT from the GIJoe counterparts were, struck me and open my mind way up to how the property existed elsewhere in the world.

My Joeverse actuallly has the Joe team split into 2 rosters so there are task force members on both sides of the globe for the fastest possible deployment whereever conflict breaks out. The "away team" in the eastern hemisphere has a few Action Force members attached to the roster. So yeah, thinking about doing a couple of my own AF figures, modern style.

hey welcome to the boards!! glad you could make it over here!

I discovered the whole AF range about the time DDP had announced they were RE-introducing the RED SHADOWS in the comics. and I have started some customs too. Funny thing is about 1994 I came across the old cotsworld store and I ordered ( unknowningly and without seeing any pictures ) many of these AF guys. when I got them at the time I was a bit dissapointed as I didnt know what they were and I spent a fare amount of money on them. I put them in a box and really didnt even look at them to about 3 years ago when DDP was bringing them back. When they did I discovered the whole site , the comics and then to my delight I knew I had bought these guys and WOW boy am i happy I didnt ditch them. THey are all in mint packaging too , so I was really happy LOL
