hi, im new here

Post by jjsvipers »

hello,
everyone i was indroduced to your site through the yojoe forum, been reading the comics you have posted , great job on the coloring, these comics are very refreshing having never read them before, im really starting to dig the toys now if i can only find some, my joe collection from 82-94 is just about complete, i dont have everything just mainly 82-91 and some of the later ones 92-94 didnt like them as much been collecting them since they were reissued up to dtc and of course i will get the 25th stuff, but its time for me to move on to the action force guys, hopefully i will be able to purchase some from here in the u.s. im still learning about them, but i like the redshadow figures, what got me heading this way was the comicbook section, the first one i read was the one where the red shadows are taking on cobra and destro gets shot in the head. is there a refrence book out that has a complete listing of the figures and vehicles? also did the toys come with the brochures like the u.s. toys did, and is the cartoon the same as the u.s. version?
thanks
jason

Hi mate,

Welcome aboard, your best bet for a figure guide is here: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/afonline/home.html. This covers the Action Force era, but not the UK GI Joe range. Under construction is http://www.gijoeuk.com/ which will hopefully plug the gaps. To the best of my knowledge there were no brochures, the range was shown on the cardbacks.

hello all,

I've been lurking for a week or so and exploring the site/s fantastic stuff. Don't why I didn't think of looking on the web for :AFLogo: stuff sooner but I'm glad I finally did.

I'm 32, living in Leeds with mrs barto and our dog bramble. I was totally obsessed with the :sas: as a young 'un. First issue of Battle Action Force I got had the last episode of Death Castle in it - thanks to the baron's hard graft over twenty years later I can finally read the beginning of the story!! Can't thank you enough!

Alas most of the figures I had have disappeared: me mum claims to have no knowledge about what happened to my AF stash in her loft. I suspect some toerag got lucky at a car boot and bought the lot for next to nothing! Not that it would have been worth much, it was hardly in mint condition (I'm sure :beaver: lost a limb or two when a long since past yorkshire terrier called George decided he was quite tatsty!).

Anyway glad to be able to post!

Roll Call!...Where's Everyone From?

Post by buddusky »

Hey all,

I'm just wondering where everyone is from, as some of us could be closer to each other than we think!

lol, the problem with that thread is how can you follow Quickfires' opus?

No wonder teh Americans think we're all crazy.

Oh- and Im Chris, 33, going on 12.

from Fife in Scotland.

I used to collect AF when I was a wee boy- I think I was around 8 when I got my first fig (Baron Ironblood).

I loved BAF- and still own the entire run, in a box in my garage.

I love this site for the nostalgia it brings out in me, though I have to admit, I prefer the better articulated figures :eagle2:
