Re: Battlestar Galactica The Plan movie
There have been a few crappy shows I can't remember now. One where a chap keeps going into the past to prevent disasters. What a stupid idea.
Eye of the needle, that's right Sundance. Message in a bottle was bloody good tho, just stuck in my head.

Sundance, do yourself a favour and reserve judgement until you know what you're on about, hmm?

Wow... reading though the thread, sort of comfirms why I stopped watching a lot of Sci-fi...I just can't be arsed any more with the long story arcs, hidden meanings & on going drawn out sub-plots any more.
Might be an age thing, as I used to love all this stuff up untill around ten years ago...Dr Who's about as deep as I go into the realms of science fiction nowadays.

P.S.
For any one interested in the search for exterrestial life check out this weeks episode of Radio 4's Infinite Monkey Cage http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00p29l8
It's real sience with a sense of humour..interesting interview with a N.A.S.A propsion expert, who describes how massive near light speed space craft would need to be work in reality....

Re: Battlestar Galactica The Plan movie
doesn't that theory suggest that we wouldn't have enough fuel on the planet to keep such a space craft going, also that exterrestial life would have the same issue if travelling to earth, making it almost impossible for these UFO sightings that get reported to be real, i kind of prefer that idea as it seems the more likely to me.

that's just because they don't understand the n-dimensional physics which underpin hyperspatial travel...

to much star trek sundance
sadly all space craft will need fuel regardless of wether they have the ability to bend space or lightspeed capabilities, if lightspeed came into play the fuel you would need to carry would be colosal and would run dry in seconds, it'll never happen, the only way we're ever going to travel the universe is by having self sustaining ships that has it's own solar eco system and it would be a generation thing as it'll will take a while to get anywhere.

Mate, I've got more degrees than a thermometer and I don't understand physics of any description, so if you do good on ya!Sundance wrote:that's just because they don't understand the n-dimensional physics which underpin hyperspatial travel...

When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?
