I wondered about Earth and Earth II. Its obvious that Earth II is our earth as the Cylons were there.

Sundance, FTL isn't necessarily folding space and if we are being picky, FTL is just that Faster than Light, nothing more. The theory behind folding is near instantaneous and velocity really doesn't come into it. So Paul might be right. I don't think so tho ;-)

Personally my take is the 13 colonies existed millions of years ago and they destroyed themselves. The survivors found Earth II and settled. They bred with native humans and Cylons and the Cylon descendants were the only ones who retained that knowledge.

The happening again thing is a reference to how f*cked up humanity is. Like the end of the Tripods Trilogy.

i take it your referring to the wormhole theory and 2 points excisting in the same place, which i believe can also alter time.

well, Trek's warp drive is supposed to warp space and the ship rides it like a surfer on a wave.

wormholes, like Eddie says, fold space to make two points meet to allow instanteous or near-instanteous travel across vast distances.

they're a bit different.

as far as bsg is concerned, if you like it, fine. i'm just saying, i couldn't make that believability jump and what i heard of the ending made it sound tosh. and i know some fans think it was tosh as well.

Farscape seemed to touch on that theory regarding wormholes that you can come out into a point in time where you could alter your own past.

Star Trek used it to, in Voyager. "Message in a bottle" iirc.

the one with the wormhole into the past was 'Eye of the Needle'. Wormhole went back in time 20 years and to the Romulan Empire.

Message in a Bottle's the one where the EMH gets beamed into the AQ via the Hirogen com network and ends up on the Prometheus, which the Rommies have nicked.

Sundance, I urge you to give BSG another go. If you've decided you don't like it based upon one scene with a truck in a forest, then you've not done it justice at all. Watch the pilot, that'll give you enough of a feel to see if you're sold.

I prefer the original bar 1980 myself but the newer series was ok.
