Battlestar Galactica The Plan movie
Just a quick heads up for BSG revisited fans, there is a new movie out on DVD titled Battlestar Galactica the plan. Its set before the series kicked off apparently and ties up a few loose ends. Its a completely new movie but supposed to feature some reused footage.
Just spotted it today, there ya go. Also spotted this on Wiki;
"On 20 February 2009, IGN announced that they had information regarding a proposed revival of the 1970s version of the series as a feature film, with Glen A. Larson as writer and producer. On August 14, 2009, it was reported that the new film was "a complete reimagination" and Bryan Singer had signed to direct and produce the new film with Larson as producer."

It's pretty good. There is a whole "zero" sequence which features the destruction of the colonies that is well worth watching, the rest is a retelling of the entire saga from the POV of the head cylon aboard BSG, it answers a couple of questions and is very cleverly done, but is really for hardcore fans only - it doesn't stand alone in the same way the Babylon5 movies do.

I skimmed it a bit today and it looked great, can't wait to watch it. I have yet to watch the B5 movies, on my to watch list..... To damned much.
Just got a hold of the latest Star Trek New Voyages today too and a demo from Tobias Richter who has taken the mantle for their CG work. Richter is best known for computer games and demo's dating back to the Amiga and Atari ST. Pure genius and it looks magnificent.

I agree with Jim, I thought it was ACE!! Also seen the pilot for Caprica too and tought it was good too. Basically how the cylons were created.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

According to one magazine cover I saw it's a Caprica movie about the Cylons creation.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

I meant that the magazine made out this was a Caprica prequel.

Babylon5 is way better. BSG has a superb cast, spectacular FX and an ok plot. Where it falls down is an abolute total lack of any kind of humour. When it hits the mark it's bloody brilliant, when it misses it's extremely dull.gung-hoeddie wrote:i wouldn't mind watching the series, to be honest i've been tempted for a long time is it any good?
B5, on the other hand has a spectacular cast, great FX (for it's day - interestingly it was the same crew who went on to do BSG) and a stupendous plot.
Watch them both, mate. And Lost.
