I Can't see a problem with opening up & playing with modern toys Mark, if I was 5 I'd do exaclly the same thing as well, heck I'm 35 & I still do it :-D

The way I sees it is,I'm doing collectors a favour...it must make their M.O.C.'s even rarer,& thus more valueable! Besides Hasbro can always produce more in the future.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

As I had the ULTRA rare Toltoys Action Men and Star Wars 12 backs I'm reminded how much opening a toy can reduce its value. If I'd kept all my toys in their boxes I would (could) be a lot richer ;-) I'm also aware that its a toy and should be played with. By Christ mine were, Lego too. Come to think of it I'm still playing with them. Its a tough call, and tbh I got more fun playing with them in hindsight.

Also the common crap of today is the rare MOC of the future. Convince me please guys.

The pleasure matt gets from playing with them, and you get from seeing him play with them (and perhaps a cheeky play yourself!) is worth it's weight in gold mate! Good idea to keep the rest of the moc's seperately though in future, but don't regret the opened ones! They can't be put back!

I know folks find that weird with me - I collect the moc and want them as perfect as possible, but with my loose stuff I refuse to fix up paint wear or breakages. They got that paint wear or broken thumb on a mission, twenty plus years ago, with general steved calling the shots. It's a badge of honour, and not something to be hidden away!

The lad and I were running around the back yard tonight. Me with my X-wing and him with his Jedi Starfighter. 2 generations of Star Wars nuts. On his birthday he got 3 sets of Lego, we both sat down for an hour or two. Life's to short not to get into it tho lately I've not had time some it was cool to get the Falcon out today too. Hopefully new job on Monday and I can get on with it ;-)

I have the Battle scarred General Lee sitting on my desk, my Z trooper (original) still has a hot glued leg and I still have the head of my EE VAM that came adrift in the heat of war. Toys are made to be played with, cheers Steve that's done the trick.

May the Force be with you.

And worth pointing out that, had you kept everything MOC, you'd only be rich if you then got rid of them all.

Happy Birthday to Choplet.

Bloody good point baron! And you'd also be a lot poorer through your quest to get them! I try to justify it in my head as "my collection is worth a lot of money", but I know that it would take an awful lot for me to get rid if it! So it's really academic what it's worth, it's just my toy collection, it ain't going nowhere!!

You guys sound like my wife, if its worth so much, sell it she says. I love my AF and VAM and it'd be a hard day if that ever happened. I was thinking more about keeping my $3.99 1984 figures on their cards rather than buying new ones, as the Toltoys guys go up to a grand, that won't ever happen. Little guy has got Breaker and Hunter on the tall boy tonight ;-)
