the first hour or so of alien 4 is excellent then it all goes to sh*t
That's a great way of putting it.

Also zee french directeur monsieur jean pierre jeunet goes un peu over zee top with zee delicatessen/city of lost children aesthetic en generale.

It was a total headfuck I fell asleep watching it ran after 5:00 in the morning on one of the Sky movie channels but it wasn't bad.

some classic bits in alien4.

ripley and the basketball.

underwater aliens.

aliens sacrificing one of their own to escape.

a lot of bits, with the soldiers, which tied into the second aliens comic series.

the last 20 mins destroy the whole film

I never managed to get to the end of A4. Watched the first few minutes, then meh.

Anyone seen AVP resurrection? Is it just a gore fest in disguise as a plotless movie? It sure looks it.

Whedon's blamed Jeneut for it being sh*t. mind you, he also blames Halle Berry for the delivery of the line "You know what happens to a toad when it gets hit by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else.' in X-Men 1 which he scripted.

AVPR is quite gory, but i enjoyed it as a mindless action flick. It's kinda like Aliens in Smalltown USA with a Predator whupping ass through it.

The first AVP was ok but hardly any weapons were used by the Predator and the film should have been an 18 so we could have had more gore and violence.

Never watched them as I always assumed the obvious: the Alien would eviscerate the lumbering Predator within 10 minutes. Fact. Predator only looked good as Arnie moved slowly at glacial roid-rage pace. Fact.
