Baroness in Swimwear!!

Post by SteveD »

Well, that heading at least got your attention didn't it! Finally finished these customs, which I know have been done by folks before a few times, but are special to me as these were the figures I was using for the 25th Heads project as my template and also, now I've finally got round to finishing them, are the first actual customs I've finished using my own head sculpts. As such, I give you -
"BARONESS'S DIVERS"

Image

(apologies the photos are a bit crappy - I took them early this morning before there was a lot of light about)

Idea is that Baroness is simply way too cool not to be in the Red Shadows (especially as she is called "The Baroness!" and has her links with Destro and therefore Red Jackal) and as such I figure she must have been involved in covert ops during the Baron Ironblood/Red Shadows period, and only came to our attention once the Baron became :cobracommander:. So, here she is with her team of crack commandos, in their diving gear:-

(The guy to Baroness far right is looking a bit wonky eyed in that picture above!)

Bodies are the Cobra Diver (obviously - and contrary to what the stands may suggest - not the Arctic Hiss Driver!!), Heads are my 25th Styleee ones, helmet logos are TKW's water slide ones, and eye slits are from Squad Leader. Baroness is simply diver Baroness with a :enemy: covering her :cobra: one.

The wonky eyed one is like that because he tried to see :baroness: changing clothes and she punched him on the eyes
Those are very well done. Congrats!

Thanks DA! I'd certainly take a whack to the face to bear witness to :baroness: getting changed (were she not a fictitious character, that is). No idea why his eyes look so wonky - I've only noticed it on that photo and they dont look wonky in real life! Suspect it's just a funny photo angle.

Clearly he's a homage to Red Dufus.

Now why didn't I think of that! So, there we have it - it's Baroness and three non-Dufus diving Shads, and one Red Dufus diving Shad.

He's stuck on the end, as he cant swim without armbands.

I love the concept, excellent painting skills, but those long necks I find a wee bit daft to be honest.

Great job Steve the Baroness and her muff divers look cool. She does suit the Shadow insignia quite well.

I'm with you on this one Jaye! As much as I like working on the 25th stuff to make customs I still find the articulation to be stupid, and the tiny heads and long necks they usually feature are just plain daft at times!

Whenever I was working on these guys I always found myself thinking og Mr Fantastic out of the Fantastic Four with his stretchy limbs! But I still love then end results.
