Yeah, looking how advanced U.K. aircraft design was back then, it's a pity the goverment of the time cancled every thing due to high costs..

It's a real pity this Avro design proposal was canned as well, a Mach 2+ Bomber & recon' plane...the contract was signed in 1955, but stopped in 1957..

Yeah, T'shot. I have a few books of Dad's from the 50's and there are heaps of prototypes in there. Mind boggling stuff.

The Avro looks like it would have been good and very modern for the 50's.
