On my second dinged up Devilfish, I just used some black insulation from stripped mains wire. Works a treat.

As for Airtight - some of the Hisstank customisers take commissions. Basically they do a BBQ body and a Wild Weasel head, or some variant thereof. They usually charge a fair whack though. The thing that puts me off is that yellow paint usually is fairly transparent, so needs several coats, and several coats = major paint wear. If it's just for display (and not posing) or for custom MOC, then go for it.
