Crazy Cobra Trooper Desert Bootleg

I've just got this crazy Cobra trooper bootleg in the last few days, and thought I'd pop some pics up! He's mad - even got the Cobra logo on his chest "disguised" to be a Scorpion!

And the very silly thing is - he is worth about 5 times what a Cobra Trooper is!

I bought him from Canada, but I'm told he was originally from Mexico. I may be worng on that front though. He certainly seems to be either a naughty factory job, or a very good copy - as he has Hasbro 82-83 on his ass!

Mexico? Might be an Estrella item originally. Or, it might be a bootleg coming from that factory.

A very learned lady Joe/AF collector from Texas put me onto them, so she will, I'm sure, be able to shed more light on the history of them when she is next around, but I think they are literally a bootleg, that has become sought after due to the freaky weirdness of them. I love the Scorpion - it's just a sort of "bit extra printed on" around the .

I looked at Yojoe's archive to see if it was an exclusive figure from an Operation M.O.T.H. boxed set I couldn't see it maybe it's a simple Desert Scorpion custom RIT-dyed?

Looks v cool! Im tempted by a white one I saw...

There are lots of colours of these guys showing on ebay - white / red / tan, people were making them in blue trying to pass them off as originals to make a bit more money but you can tell pretty easily from a good photo, probably the same people that jamar is in touch with...
