That sounds right DA making a lie of Avi Arad's bullshit statement that Marvel always keep to character's stories when they are featured in films.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

Then there's the other classic: "the films aren't aimed at you, they're to bring in new fans..."

f*cking hate it when that gets trotted out...we've heard that bullshit more times that "smoke on the water" :P

It's like on Transformers forums when you voice your dislike for the films but your love for the original series: "Geewuhner" and all that net-speak bollocks like "noob" it's f*cking annoying! ...hence why I have a lifetime ban from TFW2005

it's true though, you might as well see the films as being a different contiuity to the comics, because of the changes.

as for Transformers, hell, the f*cking G1 comic and cartoon couldn't sgree on stuff, so why should the movies? to me the comic counts more than the cartoons because i never had videos of the toons except the movie and i re-read the comics dozens of times. i only saw the toons when WACADAY showed them, before switching to f*cking Gobot cartoons.

there you go, that's why i hate Gobots, besides the stupid names, the stupid lack of guns and the cheapy nature of them, it's because they deprived me of Transformers on WACADAY!!!!

So they don't like it if you like Generation One D'? But for us in the UK that's where Transformers started why should we hate it that makes no sense?

For TFW2005 I guess it's like with their sister-site Hisstank, if you don't suck Hasbro cock and the live-action films you're viewed as being mutinous and all the Beast-Wars lovers give you sh*t for being "reactionary"

Sundance, if they were new continuities that'd be fine by me but they're not, they're the original incarnation diluted and dumbed-down for a bunch of people that don't give a sh*t: the average cinema goer. Whether they like it or not the original fans (us when we were kids) made it what it was today, simples as that.

I don't expect exact copies of the original series' to be made, I loved what Nolan did with TDK but it'd be nice if the makers actually took note of what made these things famous in the first place...but then I guess that doesn't fit Hollywood's design for raping Joe Public of every last penny they have :P

but how do you define what makes Batman work? in the 50s it was campy silly SF. In the 60s it was campy silliness. in the late 80s it was dark brooding grimness.

and, Irony, i think you'll find G1 is when Transformers started for EVERYONE not just the UK!

But it was all based on the Detective Comics Batman, where TDK too it's influence (obviously along with Frank Miller's Batman & The Long Halloween etc but they also were going back to the Detective Comics roots)... That's what I don't understand, people say "well, Batman started off all camp and silly" but he didn't. Batman became camp in the 60's, he was around for a long time before that...

well, if you go back to Detective and his first appearance, he carried a gun and killed people. that got retconned away pretty quick...

besides, Pre-Crisis doesn't count :P
