GI Joe : Rise of the Cobra [SPOILERS]
GI Joe : Rise of the Cobra [SPOILERS]
OK who saw the film and What did ye think of it?
I thought it was was a little cheesy at the start but then its started to get get good.
I want keen on all those "kung fu grip" and "knowing is half the battle" references
Loved the chase through Paris and the suit were a bit too HALO but it was great action.
I hope to get a new night raven in New York in November

Re: GI Joe : Rise of the Cobra [SPOILERS]
It was a bastardised version on the common link between Snake Eyes,Baroness and Destro Thundershot but they are taking out Vietnam from the backstory of the characters so the characters are in their 20's/30's or a little older IDW has done the same to.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

Re: GI Joe : Rise of the Cobra [SPOILERS]
Yeah I know..maybe I was expecting it to be a filmed version of the Joe comics I know & love so much, witch was unrealistic of me, I know they have to change things for a new generation & younger audience, it's set in the future so Vietnam would of been out of the question to begin with..I've just got to get it into my head that this is a "new" take on things.
Maybe it's a sign of old age, but I find myself going to see & enjoying big Block-buster movies less & less nowadays, I'm starting to wan't more story & less big explosions..for me, the 1st Transformers movie seemed to strike the right balance between telling a story & having good action...This Joe film moves along @ very fast pace, & seems to setting things up for a series, it was fun, but for me anyway, un-forfilling eye candy.

Re: GI Joe : Rise of the Cobra [SPOILERS]
I found Watchmen was a good film but at times there was far too much talking about this that and the other there wasn't much action in it so I probably won't buy the graphic novel just like JMS initial run on Amazing Spider-Man. Whereas ROC seems to be the right sort of action film I like.

Re: GI Joe : Rise of the Cobra [SPOILERS]
I don't know how busy the screenings have been, I went to the Sunday 1:30 p.m. showing & they were only 13 people (including myself) in the cinema watching it
!!
In fact it was just perfect for me, plenty of space & the other people, 'cause they were all around my age group, sat & watched it without talking or making any noise with sweet/pop corn wrappers..No bloody kids
When did kids start having booster seat for going to the movies?, when I went to see Transformers 2, I thought "oh, it's only a lil' boy in front of me, I'll be able to see every thing just fine"...only for the little sods parents produce a blasted booster seat!!!
