mail away commander varient

hello all,

need to pick your brains about something i picked up at a boot sale last sunday.

what i thought was a standard mail away AF commander doesn't match the others my collection. rather than the body with sweater and scarf he has the body of the helicopter pilot, but with none of the details painted in. he also has a red cap band while i think the others have a black one.

anyone seen these before? there were two in the lot i bought so i don't suppose they are that rare

i could e mail you one, i havn't registered yet with a site that can let me post pics. i am a bit of a computer illiterate in all honesty.

i'll take a pic later cos i'm gonna list some stuff on ebay and then email you tonight. i think i've still got your address from when i bought some BAF comics from you. cheers.

he looks like the bottom picture but he has a tan cap with red cap band and black peak. there is no evidence of paint on the zipper either.

The picture you mailed me appears to me as a regular 1982 Action Force Commander. I recall painting the red cap band black when I was little. Same counts for the black zipper on the 1983 Commander.

The two types of body can be found on both Commanders. Swapping and switching things seemed to be a rather accepted error in the Palitoy Factory!
