My Search is now over after 25 years

Post by Fireant »

When I was about 6 I started to collect action force. This was back in 1980/81. My first figure was Naval Assault :2naval: I remember looking at the other figures on the card and Desert Rat looked awsome. I never saw a Desert Rat figure in any shop and this made me want him even more. But After years of searching I have now found one on card :desert: . It cost me ?21, which I think is a great deal!

Now my 25 year search is over it feels funny, but there's always more to collect.

It is a great moment when one finished his quest! :D

@ Louie: if you have to complete an item, then how can it possibly be MIB of MOC? If something is missing it is not mint...

Getting all the :sas: :zforce: :space: :qforce: :enemy: is an awesome moment. Realised I'd managed it the other week when sifting through accumulated filthy ebay lucre piled up during absences, sort of an anti-climax in the circumstances but the moment when you know you've got a surplus :scout: brings out memories of a 10 year old's shopping spree glee. Now just gotta have a chance to take it all in.

Not so hot on the :duke: :cobracommander: range either, time, money, etc. My philosophy is just to grab what could be assimilated into the AF v Shad universe! Although original :2para: and :marine: etc. always find a place in :zforce: or support for :sas: as :2para: did back on Op Claymore in Xmas 84...

Now just need a place to stash the stuff and do it some justice...

By the way, I got my first AF figure :2para: on my 8th birthday in 1983, I have vague memories of gaping at :originalaf: them in a toy shop during spring 83, will never forget the free copy of BAF with :sas: in late Autumn that year... but were they actually out in late 82? Before then I was a total Airfix junkie. As if letting a 7 year old engage with Humbrol, glue and fragile plastic was a good idea...

Yours off to the AF.org website to do some research...
