If only Palitoy had used the jointed Joe molds to make....

Action Force, Red Shadows, SAS, Z Force, Q Force, Space Force... we love them all!

That could work with the lighter based blue/grey color. You?ll however get a nice camo pattern in red 8)

I must admit I'm torn on this one.

For immediate play value, the Joes are far superior.

But, for display now, the unjointed figures have the edge, also they tend to last better (no crotch to break, no O-ring to snap). I think I would have liked it if they had done more jointed figures as Vehicle crews, but the sheer variery in styles of the early Joe figures would have detracted from the 'uniform' look achieved by Palitoy.
It's good to be back

Must say I personally prefer the older straight arms over the jointed.

As a kid I loved getting the 'special' jointed figures with the vehicles, but had to be really careful not to snap bit off them.

It was great to have with vehicles which just rolled aroundthe floor or had proctive windows, but with the straight armers you could chuck 'em about and they were fairly indestructable.

They would hold any weapon, from originals to cheaper versions to just twigs that looked like guns, quite often if you forced a different gun into the hands of the jointed figures the thumbs would pop off.

No fun at all.

Politoy should have stuck with what they where doing and only had straight arm troops, but with jointed special vehicle drivers.

The straight arms are better to look at as well.

What would be REALLY cool is if Hasbro could use some GI Joe molds to create a comemmerative Action Force set. They obviously wouldn't redo EVERY figure from the classic line, but they could do a nice 6 pack for Action Force and one for the Shads.

Action Force:
Commander
Skip: Z-Force
Leviathan: Q-Force
Eagle: SAS Force
Sky Raider: Space Force
Hunter: SAS (Just because I really want one :) )

Red Shadows:
Baron Ironblood
Black Major
Red Wolf
Red Vulture
Red Laser
Skeletron

Of course some army-builder packs would rule as well:

Action Force:
Z-Force Infantryman x3
SAS Attack Trooper x3

Red Shadows:
Red Shadow x3
Kraken x2
Muton x1

AS for what parts to use, well I'll refer you to any of the fine customizers on this site for inspiration. Lets just say it wouldn't be that hard.

I'd be interested!

I'd love a second Hunter!

Heck yes!

Way better than a B.A.T. pack! :)

I've always thought that the Red Star body could work very well for Red Shadows. The rest would be pretty simple to kitbash something with a new head together on.

That would be superb! How much likelihood of this happening is there if we all petition the idea? How popular was the Devil's Due move to the Red Shdaows in the US?

You won't believe this but, they changed the Shadows so much that most of the new people who read the stories with them in it thought that they blew chunks. Worse yet, the new writer of the series says that he won't even address them. They are gone as far as he's concerned. Ugh! It makes me want to rip my hair out! So much potential lost... :( :(

Well I HATE the Devils Due treatment of the Red Shadows (Basically disregarding the good Baron and his crew for a bunch of generic guys in red trenchcoats :( ) so I'd rather they just stay away from there. As for the petition? Well as soon as Hasbro gets the suggestion portion of their DTC website up and running, I'd suggest everyone write them and let them know you'd like to see some Action Force characters! I've got tons of ideas for specific figure parts lists, but their pretty obvious if you flip through the pictures at Yo Joe :)

I also put it on the Hasbro questionaire at the convention as an idea for future products.
