THE RED SHADOWS MENTIONED IN DTC #2
Re: THE RED SHADOWS MENTIONED IN DTC #2
i hate to be negative, but i don't see AF or the Shads coming back from Hasbro. as far as they're concerned it's going to dilute sales of the Joes or distract from them.
you'd probably get further registering the name Pallitoy at Companies House, copyrighting all the character names and then getting someone to design new versions of the toys and try to flog the idea to Mattel or some other Hasbro rival. or even just licensing the characters out as a comic or a video game...

I think the hope is not lost. Maybe the
will not come back as a huge team, but Hasbro has already recovered the GoBots in Transformers and MASK in GI Joe. Maybe, some day, we could see at least a Wilder Vaughn figure, to keep company to Bug Bite and Matt Trakker.

Re: THE RED SHADOWS MENTIONED IN DTC #2
The DDP petition was a success. We specifically asked DDP to retcon their Red Shadows as the classic Palitoy characters, and we got Wilder Vaughn wearing the Black Major's uniform - as I speculated both here and on the Joe Reloaded boards.
Someone at DDP listened to us and made it happen. The same thing could happen at Hasbro toyline development, all it takes is the right idea pitched to the right person.

I agree, I think hasbro would consider making these figures but we have to accept being somewhere near last on the list while at the same time the line continues to be a success...
There are only so many repaints of stormy, CC and snake eyes fans will take and Hasbro will realise this, but I hope not too late...

any publicity is good publicity. people may wonder who this ironblood chap is and stumble across this site.
it also gives us here a new character to play with as Munitia is now on my custom list.
Sundance may have a point tho Baron. we should check about the rights to the characters and name brand and if possible copyright(?) these ourselves, then if Hasbro were interested we would have some input into the development.
maybe someone here with a legal background could point us in the right direction.

Re: THE RED SHADOWS MENTIONED IN DTC #2
We looked into it last year, Bill. as I say it would most likely create the very obstacle that stops it from happening. Say Hasbro did hear our call and plan a new range of Shads, the first thing they'll do it look for copyright.
"Oh look, it's registered to some bloke in the UK"
"Forget it, then."
Also the costs of producing it ourselves were ridiculous, and we have no distribution capabilities, and we'll never see them in the comics. Convincing Hasbro and getting them made as an official team is the best plan, and the best start is to get the existing DDP characters made into figures and build upon that - I suggested that in out first Q&A.
