Old Shop Stock...........

My girlfriend and I just got back from The Lake District and I found two COOL nerdy shops! Cool yet nerdy? It's true!

Universal Emporium in Bowness (where I bought two oldschool Starblazer UK comics)

and

Galactic Emporium in Windermere (where I bought a DC Nightwing model).

The Galactic Emporium not only had some previously mentioned reissue Tron figures AND an ORIGINAL Tron Sark figure, all mint on card, but they also had... a carded Action Force Muton for £4.99! Spooky!

We just got back from The Lake District again... and the carded Muton is still available in Galactic Emporium in Windermere! He's only a fiver, so give 'em a bell... they're in the phone book . You could even mention I tipped you off . While I was there, I bought my nephew a Star Wars Lott Dodd figure...(or something like that)... one like him is currently being portrayed in the Clone Wars tv show by Star Trek legend George Takei.

Wow, this thread is still going, nearly a a year old!

Still keeping my eyes out for anything, , did manage to pick up a Swordfish & Panther for £3 at the local car boot, not complete but the nipper loves `em

Still get that little rush when i see something AF though, knowing it might be a rarity. Somewhere out there is a Red Aerial!

(Also managed to pick up 3 Commando Comics for a quid, nice!)

How bizarre that this is posted now, after I dragged the long suffering girlfriend on a road trip to Whitby, in the rain, at the weekend to try to visit a toy store I remember still stocked some old AF and Star Wars stuff from when i worked over there (over 7 years ago - but I was too hard up at the time to spend money collecting toys!).

It was a long shot, I know, and proved totally fruitless as the toy store in question had closed down and in it's place was a general retailer of seaside related tat, but on the drive over I had high hopes of the old toy shop filled to the brim with MOC Minesweepers for £3.99 and the like. I was going to retire on the strength of my acquired hoard! (or fill the spare room a bit more)

I even got my Zartan from there on a day trip out as a lad!

I did consider asking them if I could go for a rake about their stock room on the off chance, but I decided against it.

False economy in the end, as petrol money spent and the extortionate price of seaside Fish & Chips meant I could have probably bought loads of stuff off Ebay instead! But a fun day none the less.

I'm originally from Whitby, which shop are you on about? I used to live near the old market place, also I know of a loft in the town that has some interesting AF/GI joe figs and vehicles....but I don't think my mum would be happy if I told you..

I think I wuld, just for the thrill of being able to buy an AF figure from a "normal" shop... But maybe he likes to visit him...

Maybe the shopkeeper has loads and just puts one out at a time to fool unsuspecting AF fans...
