Bugger! - Damn Colour Variations

Right, i needed some extra parts to replace broken bits on my af WHALE. I bought some parts from the US, as they seem to have stacks of the stuff.

Some great parts arrived today...BUT the green is a lot darker than the WHALE i've got! The US version must have used a different green to the UK version.

This is going to make finding replacement parts a right pain in the ass.....hmmmm what to do now?

Any suggestions?

Erk... My only suggestion is to customise it. Maybe offer up the parts as swaps to any UK customisers who plan to paint theirs?

I wasn't aware of any colour variation though. Is it possible yours is faded by sunlight? Is it the same shade on the interior?

This is definately not due to discolouration.

Can you do a list of the parts you need?
I have some whale parts somewhere but I may or may not need them I will know later in the week.

I have boxes full of spare parts.

Hey guys, yes definately not discolouration. My AF WHALE is all the same green, the US parts are alot darker.

Tintin, thats great! Heres what i need:

Gear box
1x side missile box holder.
1x horizontal back vane.
4x upright vanes, none broken ones.
Front lower trap door.

I've already got a gearbox coming from the US, but i should imagine now that its going to be the wrong colour!

Could you post some pics of your parts near your Whale? You may have actually got some of the Mail-In Whale parts as the Mail in was a slightly Darker and more Green than a retail Whale.

Here are some pics, these are a bugger to take photos of, especially in the evening, so sorry for the poor quality.

The greener parts came with the AF WHALE, which is all that green. The darker are the US bits.

More bits arrived from the US today, two gear boxes. Both are the darker green. This is going to be a hard task!
