Any Irish collectors out there?

Post by Antybots »

Are there any collectors out there living in the republic or Ireland?
Sometimes I think I'm the only one, which makes collecting a nightmare as I'm either losing a fortune by buying in sterling or I'm paying a fortune in postage to ship stuff from the U.S.

All my mates, cousins etc. had action force when we were kids. I wonder where all this stuff is now? I bet the attics of Ireland are stuffed with action force figures, or am I wrong? Is there an Irish collecting community out there that has snapped them up?

I guess I'll never find out what became of everyone's childhood collections. It's bad enough that my wife thinks collecting is a geeky thing to do, I just can't pluck up the courage to ask my mates If I can have their old toys for fear of the neverending ridicule that would surely follow.

I guess collecting toys will never be a cool thing to do in most peoples eyes.

Oh well, thank heavens for ebay.

Dude, most cool things aren't cool in most peoples eyes!!! I personally don't give a toss what anyone else thinks. I love my toys, music, pets and comics and will always do so. For the record, the state is 'childlike' not 'childish'.

Those who deny their inner child are doomed to a lifetime of deep tedium, I'm afraid to say.

But yeah, ebay is rather special. Have you tried offering your mates cash?

Collecting is all we do here in America. Maybe you should move here, Irish! You'd feel at home, too. Only those with German descent outnumber us with a connection to Erin!

That's what I'll do. I'll move to the US and make a fortune selling "hard to Find" Mutons to the unsuspecting GI Joe community.

Sign me up! Now that I'm learning the whole "backstory" to Action Force, I'm dying to get my hands on some of the merchandise. The only down side is the stiff, earlier action figures. I prefer the current points of articulation that became the standard for the later characters (like the ones that had the same character in the G.I. Joe series in the U.S.).
