From what I can work out the grooved one is for the red fang,
The other is for the yellow hawk.
So if you had a yellow fang you would get the hawk bomb if that makes sense. (I know what I mean lol)
As I found out in another thread that hawk overstock were packaged as fangs.

This link shows the fang bomb with the grooves and I just checked my hawk for which bomb it had which has no grooves.

cheers guys - I think I got it sorted. I've got three red fangs, and three grooved bombs, and one yellow fang, and one smooth bomb with stickers. Tintin is right!
