Action Force day

I know is been mentioned a lot of late, but I was wondering what should it be. The obvious would be a toyfair, try and piggyback onto another larger event like Action man day or transforce, making it cheap to host, it would hopefully attract many collectors who are looking for that ever elusive Jammer Figure or the carded Mine Sweeper. But how many dealers would attend who sell Action Force. Depending on location and stock the dealers would have at the time I can only think of maybe 5 max which would be a problem.

So maybe the other alternative would be to hold a convention style day where you might have displays, diaramas, a general showcase for the collectors here on this forum, maybe even sceenings of adverts, cartoons, inteviews with ex Palitoy employees etc, even maybe a swapmeet where you bring stuff to trade with other collectors.

I've never been to one of these but I'm guessing it would cost a fortune to set up, possibly a couple of thousand for magazine advertising alone, not including the larger floor space needed.

So my question is do you guys think there is enough interest in Action Force to cover the intail outlay for the event. If so where would be the best place to hold it.

I'm sure if we could make a good case for it then maybe we could try and get sponsorship and a joint partnership with an event company like showmasters.

Or do we just rent out an upstairs of a pub, stick a couple of hundred quid behind the bar and get the Baron and Clemens to bring their entire shadow collection and we take them on!

Or to avoid any embarresment of bringing a sackfull of toys to a pub, wait until my other half has gone away on business next and have it round my house!

I would hazzard a guess that it is mainly action man but you never know, I'll be there hopefully anyway
