Re: Woolworths sets?
I sold one of the Hasbro 3 pack but it had been opened which contained snake eyes v3 and topside the free figure was a rock viper.
The owner of it now is Airedevon.

Re: Woolworths sets?
I think there the ones Dan's asking about, Aire Devon....says it all super rare!

Re: Woolworths sets?
Yeah, I was asking about the GI Joe 3-packs that came out in the early 90s....here is a pic from the YoJoe archive:
http://www.yojoe.com/international/unit ... ack1.shtml
According to YoJoe, three different assortments were available, and all came on the same cardback. I guess if Aire is in the market for these, I can forget about getting one. I can't compete with either the time she spends looking or the amount she can pay once she finds them.
Oh well, I guess I'll just add it to the list of stuff I won't likely ever have.

The mere fact that a flamethrower even exists is proof that someone once said to themselves: "You know, I'd like to set that guy over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough".

Re: Woolworths sets?
Tintinlsotsnowy (great name!) Thanks again for selling me that set!
I just clicked on to your "my collection" link - but the pictures don't appear to be loading... I'd love to see your collection!
Jon, ah... rare and common... all the same to me
I am a true completist... It's not the rarity that counts for me, it is the simple fact that an item was released for the Action Force/GI Joe line!!! And that it was played with by a generation of kids!
Dan, hi! No worries, I am not looking for any of these sets! And I've pretty much run out of money anyway!
(I had to sell all my Transformers and a bunch of other stuff so that I could continue buying the pieces I need to photograph... It's been very difficult to say good bye to cool stuff - but... it had to be done....I'm commited to finishing this Action Force/GI Joe project
That said, I also have less and less time to search for items... Every once in a while a fellow collector will let me know about stuff that has come up for sale - It is thanks to these cool collectors and friends that I have had some success over the past few years! I owe so much to people on this and other boards!
As for the Woolworth sets. I do have some. I can confirm 5 different sets (and there may be more):
Snake-Eyes Annihilator Budo
Low-Light Scoop Frag-Viper
Toxo-Viper Storm Shadow Shockwave
Bullhorn Pathfinder Night Creeper
Snake Eyes Topside Rock Viper
Dan, I look forward to talking with you!
Action Force rocks!
Aire

Re: Woolworths sets?
Here is some information about the pictured Action Figure Four Pack & the Woolworths exclusive Triple Packs.
Action Figures Four Pack
I think the four pack of Action Force figures was produced by a company that bought up excess stock & end of lines etc & re-packaged them.
I do not think it had any connection with Palitoy, Kenner or Hasbro.
Somewhere I have one of these packs with three of the Steel Monsters figures by Tonka, I bought this pack in a small toy shop in Norwich years ago, I think it cost either £0.99 or £1.99.
Steel Monsters was a series of Metal vehicles which came with a 3 3/4 inch tall Star Wars syle driver. The drivers & vehicles were sort of a childrens saturday morning cartoon "post apocalypse" type.
Woolworths Triple Packs
I know of six Woolworths exclusive Hasbro Action Force Triple Packs but there may have been others, I found all of these in the Norwich Store, the first three in 1991 & the second in 1992.
If I can find them (they're buried somewhere!) I will try & take some pictures.
There were two different backing cards, one for the 1991 sets & one for the 1992 sets.
The packs consisted of a single large blister, inside this was a clear tray with four sections.
The top three sections contained the figures, along the bottom of the tray was the fourth section containing their personal equipment & accessories all jumbled together.
NB The dates I have used for the figures are the year of their first USA release. All of the figures come from the 1989-1990 USA series.
One figure, the 1989 Snake Eyes, was released in both the 1991 & 1992 Woolworths Triple Packs.
Woolworths Triple Packs – 1991
Set One
Snake Eyes (1989), Budo (1988) & Annihilator (1989).
Set Two
Low-Light (1989), Scoop (1989) & Frag-Viper (1989).
Set Three
Shockwave (1989), Storm Shadow (1988) & Toxo-Viper (1988).
Woolworths Triple Packs – 1992
Set Four
Snake Eyes (1989), Topside (1990) & Rock-Viper (1990).
Set Five
Dee-Jay (1989), Ambush (1990) & S.A.W. Viper (1990).
Set Six
Bullhorn (1990), Pathfinder (1990) & Night Creeper (1990).
I hope this helps.

rcm1234567,
Thanks so much for your post! It is great to know that there were six 3-packs altogether! I had always wondered exactly how many there were. Awesome! Thanks again!

Re: Woolworths sets?
Thanks so much Robert and Aire - this was exactly what I wanted to learn.
Now all I have to do is figure out how much I would have to pay for one of these - and then actually try to find one!

Fantastic Pics, thanks for posting. that Lowlight is probably the Euro variant, important in my next step of cataloguing. Fantastic thanks. Good pics too.
