Other Collections?

Post by Dave Tree »

Toy Collecting is often spread across several themes, so outside of Action Force, does anybody collect anything else?

I collect vintage Star Wars, but also dabble a little in the modern stuff from time to time, I especially like Galactic Heroes and Kubricks and been actively collecting them too. I also collect possibly one of the worst Star Wars product lines ever made, Bend Ems :)

I also love (although not actively collect) StarCom too. I love the toyline and think it was way ahead of it's time, with some really neat toys.

Dave.

When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Zoids! I have a full set of the official UK releases, several rarities and a few must-have Japanese models. I also have a large Lego collection - Castle, UFO, Insectoids and Vikings.

As for comics... thousands.

Erm - where to start....
Loose Star Wars (although not an awful lot, and not bought any for ages)
Flash Gordon figures from late 70's
3 3/4 inch Mego figures - Dukes of Hazzard, Chips etc
Battlestar Gallactica
Buck Rogers
Black Hole
Battle of the Planets (more modern figures)
Some MASK, Transformers,
Just starting with Clash of the Titans - well, got loose, but going to try for carded (only four, but very expensive!)
Terrahawks

All above mainly MOC stuff.

Would love HeMan MOTU but too expensive and too big, so only got one so far.

And a huge collection of 1/18th scale model cars.

No wonder the missus goes mad at my "Boy Stuff!"
Alte Volat

"BFTB Elite??? Moi??? Ooooooo, Missus - Titter ye not!"

I collect GI Joe and AF though I'm not a completest I get what I want and I customize stuff for what I want.
I do collect the comics of GI Joe:
the original Marvel Run including Special Missions and Yearbooks
Everything DD/Image ever printed for GI Joe with the exception of the Transformers crossovers
And all the GI joe cartoon series, Young person novels, and Find Your Fate books.

I collect the The Executioner "Mack Bolan" and most of the incarnations there of: Phoenix Force, Stony Man, Super Bolan series of Action Adventure Novels

I also collect the SOBs series of action adventure novels by Jack Hild

So toy wise just GI Joe and AF (though I buy other compatible scale toys for custom use)
And bookwise what you see above...
I also tend to pick up any books I find on the Spanish Civil War as well.

my first love is comics, been collecting for 20 years.
on/off affair with vintage Star Wars.
Batman animated, justice league unlimited, 1st series SW animated.
mc farlane toys.
at the moment the only toys i'm actively collecting is AF and Cobra figs.
only really collect the ENEMY and SAS but recently started picking up Z Force.
i'm really resisting the urge to collect the first wave of AF but with the attention they have been getting latley, some cool customs and the Boffin find, i dont think i'm gonna make it.
loads of stuff i've started then stopped over the years.
i dont think i've ever finished an individual collection

The only other thing I collect is vintage star wars loose figures.

My other collection is a mish mash of childhood toys including Micronauts, Mobile action command, lone ranger, matchbox soldiers, britains figures, a couple of gobots and transformers, Action Jacks and a few corgi/dinky bits in between !

these are all my favorite bits and bobs from back in the day.

I also have an extensive collection of black biro's and non functional cigarette lighters !

Like Paul463, model kits and Star wars is my only other fatherly indulgence. Star Wars is my, and my I made a heap of 1:72 RAF/RNZAF models, mostly from WWII. Haven't made in years, but have a few aside to build too. My favourite is a Lancaster 1:72. Got a RNZAF A4K Skyhawk for the next project, then a Klingon Bird of prey. Ok, I'm a Trekkie too, I admit it.
