According to SPACE COMMANDER'S GIRLFRIEND, I'm "mad on Flash Gordon"... and I can indeed confirm that the rocket ship IS based on Filmation's awesome animated version. They 'rotoscoped' an effects-miniature to give the smoothest, most realistic motion possible! COOL. I'd love one o' those ships.Crimson Rage wrote:Apart from the huge "FLASH GORDON" emblazoned on the side, that's actually pretty cool!
Is it based on the (excellent) Filmation series?

I thought it looked familiar. In my view, the animated serial from Filmation remains the truest adaptation of the original strips - Those ships moved so well on screen and were well ahead of their time thanks to the rotoscoping. I wish they'd release the original animated movie from which the series developed onto DVD.Space Commander wrote:According to SPACE COMMANDER'S GIRLFRIEND, I'm "mad on Flash Gordon"... and I can indeed confirm that the rocket ship IS based on Filmation's awesome animated version.
