Shepton Mallet Toy Fair

Post by AnnieM »

we are currently at the above fair, just bought a box of about 150 Action Force figures - at the very last stall we visited. Seller is a MASSIVE collector and thoroughly nice chap. Yay! Loads of loose Star Wars here if that's your bag, been sifting through boxes all morning in case there's a Muton in the bottom :)

Hey Annie, please can you point any sellers like that toward the site?

Have fun!

Outstanding! Some pics would be good! Trebelled your collection in a day what a result!

Ed has had a count through, there are 9 Space Force, 12 Q Force, 3 'Pilots' (forgive my ignorance, don't know what they are, blue flight suits with jet pilot style helmets), five Barons, 8 Mutons, 2 Commander-type chaps with red caps (I would look them up but can't access the pictures on my phone), 21 Z Force, 34 SAS Force and 46 of the later Joe-style figures, plus 2 Hasbro figures that Ed says are Street Fighter figures, like GI Joe but with bigger chests and look a bit cheaper. 142 figures in total - the army is growing, i have taken a photo of the box full and will try to post it tomorrow. One chewed Muton and an SAS Fella were found in another box but all the others were in one lot. We had to go and have a cup of tea afterwards, all the excitement had taken its toll :) Baron, I did try to mention the site in case he looks here, but it was hard to get a word in between him and Ed. He sounds extremely knowledgeable and also has a gigantic Star Wars collection, loads of which he bought from a contact at Woolworths back in the 80's when they were going super cheap - he ias thousands of them in his private collection plus all the stuff he sells as a business. Next fair there is in February. Sorry about lack of paragraphs, stupid phone!

Yup I agree with you gaffer! It's the only blue AF figure I can think of.

Blimey,I really need to get to more car boot sales. Although our local ones tend to be pretty poor when it comes to my interests.

we need to get shirts made or something for the site, so that people can promote the site at toy fairs like this one

I bet there is a lot of people out there that would love a place like this but dont know about it!

more fans , more people supporting things, more chance of getting things done again in the 2000s!
