Why were the original launch line up not expanded upon.

When the original line up was launched were there other figures planned before the decision was taken to lanunch the 'force teams'

Was the designers under any pressure not to continue converting outfits from the original Action Man range as many were WWII outfits?

And if so was this due to the political correctness or that the market wanted more advanced looking figures to compete with star wars?

Is this why the Mountain and Artic figure was droped in favour of the more modern looking Artic Assault figure. Does the Artic figure featured on the back of the original cards still exist anywhere or are there any more pics of it?

What made Palitoy not repackage GI Joe figures from the start as they had done with Action Man in the 60's?

Most of the figures in the whole range (bar the hasbro based jointed ones ) used the molds from the original line up just interchanged and repainted. Some collectors comment too few molds were used but even so is a credit to the designers to come up with new outfits from such limited range. Was this something proposed by the designers at the development stage or was this imposed by a cash strapped Palitoy after the intial release?

Very little is known about Action Force in terms of behind the scenes, would he ever plan to author a book on the subject?

And lastly what toy ranges did he work on before and after Action Force?

Question Time........

Post by steve »

Great, so he did get in touch!

For me it would be good to know if any prototype figures/vehicles survived, or if any decent pictures exist of them. And were there any unproduced prototypes?

Was there an intention to continue the original figures alongside the Z Force era ones (as the Dutch Catalogue Suggests)?

Were production lines in different countries used simultaneously or at different times, and are some of the minor figure/plastic variations a result of this?

Was the second batch of release 2 (triad fighter et al) released in ATT colours?

What were the proper release dates for the Action Force releases?

Did Palitoy have input/approval on the Battle Action Force Stories?

Does he know if Battle had additional stories completed/drafted at the time they lost the license?

And of course the old favourites:

Favourite Vehicles and Figures?

Least Favourite Vehicles and Figures?

Why was Z Force called Z Force?
It's good to be back

:cmmdr: Action Force STILL Needs You! :cmmdr:

Were Palitoy secretly funded by the SAS?
