The anticipation is rising!!!

Does anyone know how to get adobe photoshop on the cheap (credit crunch and all that plus the fact I went a bit overboard to collect the all the old joe comics in record time!!) I'd really like to help on future volumes.

I am going with sorry to hear that I didn't know things were that rough Bart. I am reading Volume I again just to read it for a second time but also to bide time for my volume II to show up.

Well, my Volume two has arrived, and is being devoured with great gusto - I even have it at work with me to read in my lunch break! It's tremendous, and a big thanks to all involved.

bart wrote:oh, cool. thanks. no one has PMed me about my pages, guess i suck lol j/k i like the basic old school style and when i can i like to use some bright colors to give the pages some pop but i welcome anyone to contact me if they have any questions, or comments... good or bad.
Im really sorry about that, thats been one thing that I wish people would have done everyweek. The colorist put a lot of work into it and we post contact info everyweek for the colorist with each issue we post but sadly few ever contact them and let them know what they think. I begged practically the first year for people to take a few minutes of their time do say something but few did.

Its too bad too because if MANY of the colorist would have gotten a lot of THANK YOU'S and what nots from people I know MANY of them would still be coloring for us. Fans Appreciation and Praise is our currency and if we ALL not taking a few minutes of our time to say thank you directly many of the colorist just think that no one could care about all the hard work that they just have done.

It would make me happy if everyone that is reading this thread at the moment would go to the coloring section and go to each thread we have posted for each issue over the last 2 years and take maybe 30 minutes of thier time and send the colorist a little thank you message through the contact info we posted, maybe we can get some of those people back and excited about the project! the more colorist we get the more of these books we can get out to you and faster!

with that said I am so happy to hear that everyone is so far happy with BOTH volumes!

no on to Volume III and Beyond!

i dont do this stuff for the praise, i do it bc its a fun side project for me to take a breather from the other stuff i got going on and i do it for the fans enjoyment. like i have said i really dont know much about this series which you would think i wouldnt want to be a part of it bc of that. but any Joe is good Joe in my opinion and this branch of the tree is really growing on me.

if i never get a PM saying hey man great job or you suck big time really doesnt matter to me ill still try and get some pages in here and there. but critiques are welcome bc i want to put out a good effort that makes everyone happy. im here for the group and not just for me to say i colored some of those pages.

i have a strange request but i know it will probly never happen bc its alot to ask.
i do pages that people have backed out of or never finished on top of the regular stuff assigned to me. i like when i get someone no one has done before bc i get to pick out my own colors. i mostly try and pull them off the figure and tweak them a bit. now for the pages i pick up from people who backed out i am sent refernece materials to try and match my colors to. this is awesome bc i want the book to flow almost seemless. but... sometimes i am stuck in the middle. the pages before me and after me might not match exactly and i find a happy medium with mine to try and make them mesh well.
my idea is this: there are some old original colored pages to pull color off, would there be a way to make a poll or something from the pages we have done and have people pick their fav character? i know thats a crazy idea and alot to ask but if we could make our own reference pages for certain characters who have been done already then everytime that character is used it would be colored the same. still leaves the colorist able to put their own flare on the stuff with shading and what not but still keeps the character the same color from page to page in the books.
i know i am dreaming, just something that bugs me a bit. not saying anyone has done a bad job its just that some characters are known for their colors and should be that way. example: cc has a definitive shade of blue and when i see him not in it it kinda takes something away from his character to me. if there was a ref section of the stuff we have done to pull color off <like from the original stuff> then problem solved. and so on for other characters. or am i just being really crazy here?

Speaking purely for myself, I'm doing my colouring for the love of it, not kudos of any kind. I'll keep doing it too as long as my 'mouse wrist' doesn't get a permanent cramp! I certainly wouldn't stop because nobody had singled me out for 'praise'. Seeing these strips get posted here and printed up in a book is all the thanks I need, and even that is selfish of me as I'm getting joy from them too.

Obviously, if I'm producing a load of crap then I'd like to be told so I can do better, but otherwise I'm happy to remain 'anonymous'.
