An Authentic Base Design

I would like to ask for your help in a project I am considering.

I am designing an Action Force base that I would like to build in my loft but what would it look like? Would it be an underground hidden facility? Would it be a base that everyone knew was there but was not declared like the SAS in Hereford? Where would it be? In the UK? In the countryside? The Forrest? The Desert? The Ocean?

Would it have secret entrances that transform like the Thunderbirds on Tracy Island?

It would need to accommodate vehicles, tanks, helicopters, jets and a Hercules. I want the 10 jets from my Flagg to be able to be there when not on Carrier deployment. Will need a runway.

That looks like a great idea. Was that in the comics? I seem to remember it. Why do we feel the base needs to be hidden? I am trying to picture it in today’s world. Secret of course but hidden?

Would love many ideas. It’s a good brainstorming subject.
