Action Force - Satellite

Post by Hopper »

Running through the fanclub stuff, and came across this description of Space Force (24/12/83):

"controlled from the Action Force satellite"

This got me thinking...

Space Force have access to a satellite orbiting the earth, as is illustrated in the Mini Comics, among others.
In the Palitoy trade catalogue there is also the Space Force satellite (http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/toys/00 ... index.html)

I wonder if, given the mentions of this (still very early in the AF history, when there was much still undecided about the toys), and the prototype in the catalogue, there was some serious thought given too producing a satellite commercially?

The catalogue one is brilliant, but really small - a miniature Palitoy Death Star, really.

Any thoughts?

If you look at the trade catalogue the display is a single piece. I don't think it is a prototype.

It'd be really cool to recreate that dio. Not hard, either.

Precisely.

One :space: character from the same dio even made it on to the cover of BAF.

... as well as the summer 1983 ad in Tiger and ?Eagle.

Sure they are also on an :AFLogo: card-back mock-up too.
