Stuka Sticker?

Post by Thundershot »

Hi folks,

Cleaning up a :cobra: Ferret one of the stickers looked familiar ..

.. so I had a quick look in my photo albums & found this:

The Ju.87.'Stuka', in the Hendon museum, has a very similar tank painted on it's nose:

Granted it's not %100 the same but it's darn close.

Clearly the inspiration for the Ferret sticker, cracking Stuka photo. When was this taken?
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Hi Paul.

Cheers :-) These were taken back in 2012, it's probably changed a good deal since then.

What markings are on the F-4? RAF?

Nice spot on the Stuka.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

I can't see the roundels, low vis? Many, many moons ago there was an ANZUS exercise in Ohakea, NZ. Not far from me. Anyway, I heard an unfamiliar noise so raced out to the porch overlooking the valley to see. It was an RAAF F4 scooting past at low level. Burnt into my head that image is. I was used to A4's and Bluntys.

Roundels only on the wings in that scheme, they all had fancy squadron markings under the cockpit.
