Still got a handful to do, gotta say I'm enjoying getting to play with it all again.
A lot of these were in a really grubby state.... not broken... just dirty from being played with in the garden, greasy finger marks or sticky patches (I must of been drinking orange juice when play with the Falcon), so I've been cleaning and conserving everything before taking these picture. In a couple of cases I've literally striped some things down to their component parts... the Snow Speeder had dried up 30 year old blades of grass inside it :-D

Nice one Ed :)
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Nice piece of history, Ed. Some of mine is still battle scarred, I could fix it, but no.

Hi Mark, it's these battle scars that make something truly "your" toy.. especially if you remember the little accidents that made them :-)

The Snow Speeder was the one which required the most cleaning effort, but then that reflects how long I've had it & the amount of play value I got out of it.

Just look at all of that yellowing!
And sure I could replace the tow cable, yet, it's "mine" & original to the toy so I spent an age carefully undoing all the knots & leaving it to soak overnight in Oxy-clean to remove the dirt :-D

I took this thing out into the garden in all weathers, playing with it during the long summer holidays & whenever it snowed.
I think the general rule was the bigger & dearer the vehicle was the less it got taken out of the house... take the AT-AT for instance, I spent a lot of play time with it, but as I was aware that it was an expensive toy, it got treated with a lot of respect.

Much the same here. Although I didn't have any SW vehicles apart from the die cast X wing and speeder. I did have a Cherilea DUKw. I remember Dad buying the X wing and a Hornby caboose from the hobby shop when I was about 6 or 7. That memory will be etched in my head till the day I die, I was so excited. I still have all my trains, dunno what happened to the X wing.
