Which Paint?

Post by The Baron »

Finding the perfect match paint can be a right pain. These are the best matches found so far:

:enemy: Red - Plastikote Spray Bright Red
:zforce: Green - Humbrol Enamel Satin 131
:sas: Black - Plastikote Spray Black
:sas: Yellow - Plastikote Spray Buttercup Yellow
:qforce: Blue - Plastikote Spray Harbour Blue
:qforce: Yellow - Humbrol Spray Yellow
:space: Orange - Games Workshop Fiery Orange
:space: Blue - Games Workshop Ultra Marines Blue.
:space: Gray - Humbrol Enamel Satin 166

Still hunting for a decent SAS Gray and Red Shadow Gray.

Humbrol Enamel does NOT mix with Plastikote undercoat or lacquer!!

I used Games Workshop's Blood Red and Chaos Black on my customs.

I used the normal pot of Chaos Black I found the sprays always missed big areas.

Scooby, what was that Space Force orange you had? In fact, the blue and gray were perfect too IIRC.

It was Games Workshop Fiery Orange and Ultra Marines Blue.
The grey was Humbrol super enamel satin 166 with a little shine like the figures.

Is the Plastikote red spot on for red shadows? Or does it need a bit of mixing?

It's spot on. Check out my and Jimbo's Red Shadow customs for examples.

Cheers Baron, I'll have to get some. Do you spray on or brush on?
