Checking in after being MIA for too long

Post by steve »

Hi all

I realised the other day that the first incarnation of Action Force Online began back in 2001, it was a way to teach me web skills and highlight an at the time unsung toy range.

Now 14 years on, working as an IT manager it seems to have paid off for me in terms of skill development, and looking at the great stuff here The Baron has taken this old forum and the whole online presence of Action Force from strength to strength.

For those who have forgotten the reason I vanished and handed the forum over was that I was getting frustrated by the level of work that moderation required, and also getting married since then and having two kids since then meant other priorities stopped me getting back into things. I tried to come back before but time didn't allow, but now the kids are a little older I once again have some time to play with....and some figures in my loft are crying out to be chopped up and rearranged

I've also got this insane idea about two scrap cosmic cruisers and a dremmel (unless someone has done it over the last few years)

G'day Steve, Just looking in the members list I didn't realise I have been here since 2003. Back then I was just lurking. I guess you would be akin to the lords of Kobol. ;-)

Kids seem to make a good spark for kicking off Action Force collections. In that 12 years I've been around I've just managed to complete my figure collection, it's had been that long. Time flies when the SAS are fighting his nibs.

Welcome back.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Welcome back!

Intrigued by your dual cosmic cruiser idea. Would this be two joined side by side?

Or maybe an idea would be that the two cosmic cruisers are the triad style pods of a huge super Triad Cruiser with an even bigger thing at the back.

Cheers to both

Chopper - you are dead right, dug a box full of AF out of storage at the weekend, my five year old daughter loves them.

Kraken - in my head I want a double width one with four seats, as in the comics the cosmic cruisers seemed to be a lot larger at times. I've also got a concept for a cosmic carrier using the cosmic cruiser as the control room for a larger transport loosely based on the Space 1999 eagle concept. Although a triad style one could be fun....

Sounds good and looking forward to seeing any progress. Its one of those vehicles that in the comics can look massive and would love a double seat one but have (I think) the perfect donor vehicle for an alternate shuttle. I just need to snaffle one on ebay.

I've got two others in my projects box, got a Fisher Price Alpha Probe shuttle and a Corps lifting body style shuttle. They should surface sometime this year, likely that the alpha probe will be space force and the corps ship shadows.
