Lots of bazooka related fun this weekend!
I recently got lot on ebay in which, joy of joys, was a Type 2 bazooka.
Well, burger me! I genuinely thought I'd never get one.
I know this has been mentioned on the forum before - I have a photo of them I took from here - don't remember who posted it.
Anyway, here is the photo of mine, with a Type 1 for comparison.
Type 1 at the top, Type 2 at the bottom.
Type 1 - Shiny hard plastic. 3 studs on 'triangular' handle. Larger studs. More detailing on sight. Numbered on the rectangular handle.
Type 2 - Shorter, softer (bendy) plastic, matt surface, 4 studs on triangular handle. Small studs. No number on the rectangular handle.

Re: Bazooka Types
I'm guessing the green Zap bazooka's would share the same variations too.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!
Re: Bazooka Types
Perhaps. Though the differences in plastic mix may well be Palitoy's invention. Would be well worth checking just for interest's sake.Thundershot wrote:I'm guessing the green Zap bazooka's would share the same variations too.
Good to see the archetype of the bazooka - never made the connection between Zap's bazooka and the Red Shadow's before.

Re: Bazooka Types
Checking Yojoe they dont mention anything about the numbering on Zaps Bazooka but maybe they arent as thorough at this kind of thing over there
The mould on the pic they have of Zaps looks different as there is a circular piece on the right hand side which doesnt look to be visible on the pics above. Zaps always looks perfectly formed as well, something ours doesnt but that could be down to process and plastic.

Id suspect Palitoy(s) had their own mould for the Bazooka. I wonder what Dolphins bazooka matches....

Re: Bazooka Types
3D Joes only shows the 3 main variations:

Looks like we got the middle one with a wider handle.

Re: Bazooka Types
Certainly looks that way.
Would be interesting to see if any (Zap's or Dolphin's) are numbered, or whether any are made from Type 2 plastic.
3D Joes - awesome... never seen that before - I don't really do much GI Joe stuff, being the Palitoy man I am!
Baron, can we get some 3d photographs for the archive?
