Much obliged, and yeah, I'd love to tackle this, but it is a huge undertaking.
The big question is, what evidence remains for prototypes, etc, and where is that information.
Mr Tree seems to have access to Palitoy's archive, and he seems to play his cards very close to his chest.
Actually, I've never understood why - if it was me, I'd be screaming from the rooftops! I suppose it's connected to his book about Palitoy's history that is somewhere in the pipeline.
I'm going to do some studying... I feel an XL spreadsheet coming on! (*scurries over to the archive section)
Ah, the dreaded excel sheet(s) - suppose it must be done that way in the interests of rigorous inquiry ...
Not sure that it's going to be that long in comparison to exhaustive variant spreadsheets. By no means exhaustive, and can attempt to write up, but:
1981

protos and associated data inc. concept artwork.

various figures on sprues etc. and for test shots.

QC Green-stickered

cardbacks will provide crucial elements of the timeline to situate the above. There was a thread on this - maybe by the seller? Found them via a former Palitoy worker's loft? Now we have timeline for

MMS and another figure in the archive.
System was still in place in 1985 as a green stickered

is in the archive, obviously not the legendary design team signing off on the products by then...
Late 83
Green-stickered

cardback with protos (archive), there are some other

and maybe

protos - but are they just mock ups for test shots?
Late 83

+ Roboskull protos, plus associated

and

concept artwork (sometime after

was stood down as the

Roboskull pilot.)
Late 83

ATV concept artwork
Early 84

ATV concept artwork 2 just before Palitoy design team discontinued.
Somewhere in spring 1984 some wave 3

figures and a

transporter need to be added in.
PS. All of this - and much more - must be in Bob's draft book too!
