The BIG sale

Post by Graham_UK »

Hi all, as hard as it is to write this here we go! I'm contemplating selling a fair percentage of my Joe collection, not all! But enough to clear my overdraft and to allow me to start a new project. I've come to the realisation that I'm never going to have the space to display it. I have a massive sideshow collection which I'm keeping aswell as most of my childhood dream toys.

So, what I'm selling is a good mix of stuff from the 80's ARAH collection.

If that's wetted anyone's appetite then PM me! Maybe we can work a deal or two ;)

That's horrible to hear Graham, but we all have to make these hard decisions. I have sold pretty much all my Joe vehicle line now and it is tuff seeing it go.
I hope you will still stay an active member here and carry on attending RORC?
Not here for a long time, just here for a good time.

Yeah for sure, I'm still keeping what I had as a kid and the things I always wanted but it's hard to justify stuff when it's just not seen the light of day for years. I think I'm going to be keeping the figures from 82-89 although I'll be selling my NF carded set (I may even re buy them loose again someday). I'm selling my Terrordrome but I'm going to keep the Defiant and my Flagg. (Although if someone was to offer me the right price????) I'll probably be selling my vehicals from 89 too and I'm going to let some of the earlier vehicals go to but again for the right price! I've spent 5 years getting stuff in tip top shape, quality wise there will be some great pieces, also I think my KreO will go. I have everything so far inc con sets.

No no no no!!!! Another one bites the bitter "I have to sell everything off"-dust :(

I understand the main reason for going through this phase in collecting (hell, even considered parting with all my stuff 2-3 times in the past year) but I just think that it will be harder to justifying the re-purchasing later in life when you are older instead of keeping it safely stored.

When that is said, do let me know if there is anything you think I need in my collection (easier than asking what you have for sale ;)
Best Regards

Don't worry Rene', I will still have a big collection but it's hard when you've been going without other things for so long. I have the crusader! Boxed with sealed bags. Let me know if you're after anything else.

Respect to you for this graham! As much as it's an unpopular opinion on a toys site- Financial responsibility has to come into play! It's crazy to have thousands wrapped up in toys, but be scrimping in day to day life! And after a while you start to begrudge the toys their value too! Hope the sales go well buddy!

Cheers mate, I wish I didn't have to do this but I know I'll be able to end a 10 year overdraft that's been strangling me! I'm keeping a stack of stuff so I'll still have a big smile on my face ;)

Afraid I'm going to have to call it a day! I'm going to be selling off the vast majority of my collection, the remainder will go into a display i'm going to have of my childhood toys plus all the things I wanted as a kid. It's a free for all, you know what I have! PM me with lists etc.. Most of the figures i'll be keeping but let me know what. Sensible offers only!
