Yes, I did. Now I think about it, I think it was when we came over to Aussie on holiday, I was 12. Also Footrot Flats at my Nana's local cinema in Whakatane.

Cracker of a film.

I used to be a 1hr each way trip to see a movie. Another I do remember was Platoon. Even though I was too young to see it, the folks took me as they knew I was into War movies and books.

The staples were Star Wars and Indy. Oh, and James Bond. First one was Octopussy IIRC.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

For me it used to be a rare & very special event to go & see a movie @ the cinema as a kid.

Dad always seemed to be @ work on the farm & Mum couldn't drive, so going to see both Return Of The Jedi & Ghostbusters with them are events which stand out in my memory.

In fact Ghostbusters was an important life event for me.. in primary school, being dyslexic, I was a late developer when it came to reading.
I found it hard & the educational books they tried to teach me with were extremely simplistic &.. well.. just plain uninteresting.
I'd been given some birthday money &, for some totally inexplicable reason, I spent it on the Ghostbusters novelisation.
I progressed so well in my reading lessons, reading that book, that going to see Ghostbusters @ the cinema was my reward... It's because of Ghostbusters that I learnt to read!
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

Ironically, I too bought the novelization of Ghostbusters, I tool it to school to read as my "Personal reading book" and to this day I still have never managed to complete it :(
