Time to start educating the kids!
I took my 4 yr old Son to the cinema on Sunday for the first time to see the Lego movie.
He loved it but now it's time to start him on the serious stuff!

Lets not forget Willow, The Dark Crystal........ The Explorers..... I'm sure I'll remember a few more after the coffee kicks in. Good start though, Oh Dukes of Hazzard, Buck Rogers and the original Battlestar too.
PS on the back of this thread I would say we are officially old farts now.

That will be a great future memory for the boy Daddy Wolforrest
I have a few hazy memories of my dad taking me to see 'Never Ending Story' at the cinema. I think it was the first time I ever went. Magical! If I close my eyes I can picture the reception and almost smell the popcorn. I miss Dad very much.
I believe the chain we went to was called ABC Cinemas....(?) Great old ornate cinema with plush carpets and usherettes. I presume they ceased to exist as where i grew up now has something like a 14 screen multiplex, big, brassy, f*ck off, soul-less, faceless clone chain.

With the recent passing of Harold Ramis I remembered back to my Dad taking me to the old ABC in Brighton to see Ghostbusters, I remember walking back from the station with the movie poster/program to this day!

My grandad was the cinema manager at the Coronet in Eltham, I remember going to see him and watching the films for free . He would be suited and booted and meet the cinema goers at the door before manning the Wurlitzer while the usherettes showed people to their seats by torch light.
Much better days than now even if the picture and sound quality are better.

We are getting old for sure. Remember intermission? We had 2 cinema's in Rotorua (lived there till I was 10, couldn't afford to go much) one was the Odeon and the other The Majestic (Aka the bug house). We'd get dressed up to the nines, head out for a Pizza or Chinese and off we'd go. IIRC I saw Star Wars at the Odeon when I was 5ish. Other flicks I can remember seeing there were Used Cars, TESB and The wizard of Oz.
I can vividly remember was about 3 or 4 watching that nasty witch. I got up an yelled for her to leave Dorothy alone.
