I remember seeing a technology show (on B.B.C. News channel?) which reported on a very similar exo-skeleton being developed, in Japan, for old age pensioners to assist in their mobility.. what this says about the physical fitness of U.S. special forces, I don't know.

Some of the old folks, in Peterborough, are a dangerous enough menace just tearing up @ down the high street on their scooters .. God help us if they ever get hold of Power Armour

Hoped to be able to reply here with youtube footage of the old 70s Soviet petrol-powered sprinting-assistance piston for mechanised infantry thingy-me-jig (especially footage of when the petrol exploded in the piston's chamber when the mechanism was fully compacted by the runner before they actually pushed off for the next stride ... )

As I can't describe that contrarian scheiss in Russian there is no footage. But the Soviets tried it (visions of infantry keeping up with T72s and BMPs across the post-nuclear battlefield) ... and it would be perfect for pushy pensioners.
